Jason Breslaw leads BP’s distillate trading origination across the Americas. His current role includes leading BP’s preparatory work in developing the company’s 0.5% Marine Fuel offers and supporting the region’s refineries as they consider modifications in the run up to 2020. Jason has been with BP for 12 years and has held a number of roles in London and Chicago including in freight analytics, jet operations, distillate trading and blending where he was responsible for developing BP’s significant wholesale position in the ARA and West Mediterranean DMA markets. He played a leading role in preparing the company for the 2015 0.1% ECA Marine Fuels specification change, and contributes to relevant ISO and CIMAC marine working groups and military fuels quality forums. Outside of his Marpol-related responsibilities he works to develop and execute BP’s renewable diesel strategy in the Americas across all parts of the value chain. Born in London, UK, Jason majored in chemistry at the University of Cambridge. A foodie and avid traveler, he’s an air-miles enthusiast who enjoys spending time with his friends and family.

Vivek is Director of Tanker Research at Simpson Spence Young (SSY) Shipbrokers in London, where he leads a global team of analysts producing consultancy and research for oil and tanker markets. He regularly presents on industry economics and fundamentals to SSY's oil and gas, trading and shipowning clients. He is responsible for SSY's forecasts, heads up consultancy and edits all reports and publications on tankers. As well as its regular research, he is also spearheading SSY's initiative to reimagine analytics in shipping for the era of big data.

Prior to joining SSY in September 2017, Vivek was at Tufton Oceanic in London for 9 years, conducting shipping industry research for hedge fund and private equity investment strategies, and at Maritime Strategies International for 5 years, modelling and writing economics reports. He holds an MSc. in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, City University and a B.A. Hons. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Keble College, Oxford University.

Gary Morgan has an educational background in Economics (University of Newcastle upon Tyne), adding to this a Masters degree in Marine Technology and the Environment – covering areas including maritime transport economics, shipyard production and modelling.

In 2005 he joined Lloyds Register as an analyst working in the business development department, going on to become a market intelligence manager. In this position, Gary played a central role in ship owner/shipyard new business development. A key responsibility included providing detailed strategic analysis which influenced the direction of Lloyds Register’s marine division.

In November 2008 Gary joined Clarksons’ newly established market analysis team as a senior analyst, working closely with the various commercial interests of the Group. In 2010 Gary was appointed director of the analyst team. At the beginning of 2012 Gary moved to Clarksons Houston office to establish an analytical resource for the broking division in the US.

Tim directs MSI’s oil and tanker market analysis, modelling and forecasting, as well as leading or contributing to bespoke consultancy and research projects.
Tim regularly presents on oil and tanker markets to MSI’s diverse client base, including banks, private equity, shipowners and shipbrokers, as well as presenting at conferences and participating in panels and industry events. His views on the tanker sector are regularly quoted by the shipping and financial media.

Prior to joining MSI, Tim worked for Shell Trading and Shipping Company (STASCO) and has a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.

Mel has a combined 33 yrs of work experience encompassing process design, training of personnel, new plant start-up, as well as on-stream optimization in North America, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and Western Europe.

Evan Hyde is the Director of Field Services for Inc. Formerly he was president of Telaxe, a coker consulting firm. He previously was president of C2 Nano Technology where they researched surface treatments to combat fouling and corrosion issues in cokers and other petrochemical process units. He was a Senior Engineering Advisor for Becht Engineering Co., Inc. New Jersey. Evan has consulted on processing improvement and reliability initiatives for coking clients around the world. He also participated in onsite peer assessments of Coker Units at eight refineries which included improvements in maintenance work practices, process enhancements, and turnaround scope optimization.

Prior to joining Becht, Evan worked for ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, as a process engineer, with assignments in research, and troubleshooting for heavy oil upgrading equipment. He holds a B.S. of Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

One of Evan's current projects is the Coker Roadshow - a 2 year tour to visit and support every delayed coker in the USA and Canada.

Stefka Wechsler joined Argus Media in 2012 as the editor of the daily price and news report Argus Marine Fuels. Built an extensive network of suppliers, traders, brokers and shipowners in all major ports in North America and Latin America. Formerly fuel oil consultant with Poten & Partners (2006-2012) where she focused on market analysis, scenario planning and strategy development for resid production, consumption and regulations. She contributed to the monthly Fuel Oil in World Markets and Fuel Oil Opinion reports and co-authored the studies Fuel Oil Prospects 2010-2015, North America ECA 2012-2020 and Marine Fuel Regulations 2010-2025. She has a Bachelor in Business from Baruch College and an MBA from Fordham University.

Steve Weber is Vice President of Petrochemical Consulting for Argus DeWitt. Steve began his career with Fina in 1979 as a Process Engineer and had various other assignments in the 1980s in the Economics and Planning and Marine Transportation Groups for Fina in Dallas. In 1989, he moved to the Port Arthur refinery and later became Operations Manager at the site. Steve was named Plant Manager of the Fina/GE Joint Venture Styrene Plant (Cosmar) in 1995 and Refinery Manager at the Big Spring Texas refinery in 1998. In 2000, he returned to Louisiana to manage both the Styrene JV and the Total Petrochemicals Polystyrene Operation. Steve was named Senior Manager of Aromatics for Total in 2005, relocating to Houston.

Steve joined DeWitt & Company Inc. in 2011 after spending two years with Solomon Associates in the refining and petrochemical consulting area. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. Steve is responsible for single client studies for refining and petrochemicals in the Americas.

Stephen Jones joined Argus in October 2017 as Senior Vice President, leading the business development team for the petroleum sector. Stephen is responsible for Argus solutions that meet the needs of crude oil, refined products and natural gas liquids market participants. Stephen has expertise in all aspects of the energy business, having served clients for over 30 years in the industry.

Prior to Argus, Stephen was with Purvin & Gertz and IHS Market for 17 years where he was Vice President of the Refining & Marketing team. His led a large international group that provided research and consulting services to clients in the upstream, crude oil markets, natural gas liquids, chemicals, automotive, maritime, and midstream businesses. Also while at IHS, Stephen led the Energy Product Management team to integrate the legacy PFC Energy, Purvin & Gertz, and CERA market services. Stephen began his career with Exxon at the Baton Rouge Refinery where he held a variety of technical support, business planning, engineering supervision, and operations management positions. He then moved to Exxon’s Refining Headquarters and Supply & Trading team in Houston where he gained expertise in crude oil trading and refinery economics.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tulane University.
