Ryan McNutt

Ryan McNutt, CEO, SIGMA

Ryan McNutt is Chief Executive Officer of SIGMA: America’s Leading Fuel Marketers, a post he assumed in April, 2015. Ryan has a rich history with SIGMA, having previously served on the association’s Legislative Committee and Board of Directors. Prior to joining SIGMA, Ryan spent ten years with Midwest Petroleum, a Saint Louis-based convenience store operator. As its Vice President of Operations, he was responsible for all aspects of store operations, marketing, merchandising, human resources, and risk management. Following his time at Midwest, he was a Senior Director for Anheuser-Busch for the convenience store channel.

As SIGMA’s CEO, Ryan works closely with SIGMA’s Board of Directors, members, and staff to ensure the association continues its role as a leading voice for the fuel marketing community and that its events, programs, and services remain relevant and further advance the interests of the industry for the future.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Louis University. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from Washington University in Saint Louis.

Dan Gordon
Dan Gordon, Executive Vice President Business Development – Mexico Supply & Marketing, Delek US

Dan Gordon is Executive Vice President Business Development – Mexico Supply & Marketing at Delek US Holdings. Delek operates four refineries in the United States with a combined refining capacity of 300,000 bbls/day.
Dan is currently focused on leading Delek’s efforts with respect to Mexico. Prior to this role, Dan has held several senior level roles within Delek, including; Vice President of Crude Supply & Trading and Vice President of Fuel Supply and Transportation.
Dan has earned an MBA from Georgia Tech and BS from the University of Florida.
Francisco Soto
Francisco Soto, General Director, Bulkmatic

Francisco Soto is President of Bulkmatic de Mexico S de RL de CV, a subsidiary of Bulkmatic Transport located in Griffith, IN.

Graduating from the Monterrey Institute of Technology in 1991 with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Francisco completed his MBA also at Monterrey Tech in 1996 and in 2006 obtained an alumni degree from the Harvard Business School for its General Management Program. Francisco has more than 25 years’ experience in the Transport and Logistics industries, focused particularly on international movements between the US and Mexico. Over the past 20 years he has been building Bulkmatic’s presence in the Mexico market and spearheading the development of fourteen rail to truck transloading terminals within Mexico, including more than 45 kilometers of tracks, equivalent to 2,300 car spots and over 1 million sq foot of warehouse.

During this time, Francisco has helped establish Bulkmatic de Mexico as the leading bulk transload and distribution company in Mexico, receiving and transferring over 35,000 railcars per year. Francisco currently splits time between offices in Griffith and Monterrey and is focused on transloading expansion opportunities in Mexico and other parts of Latin America.

Recently, Bulkmatic started operations in Colombia under the scope of Francisco Soto responsabilities.
José Miguel Gutierréz
José Miguel Gutierréz, General Director, Ferropuerto K'eri

José Miguel Gutiérrez Cruz holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Corporate Administration from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. He has a specialty in International Business and Foreign Trade from the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
He is the director and part of corporate governance, representing the storage terminal Ferropuerto KERI. He has been a speaker and panelist in the Opis oil and gas forums - Oil Price Information Media, Argus media, T21, Gas Intelligence, and Infraestructure Projects Forum.

He holds certifications in Business by Babson College, Traffic, Customs and Tariffs by Global Business University and International Competitiveness by Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is founder and CEO of Global Companion, a global business enterprise, foreign trade and international supply chain.
Michael Davis
Michael Davis, VP Member Services, NACS

Michael is currently the VP, Member Services at NACS, The Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing, responsible for providing products, services, information, and advice to its approximately 2,500 retail and 1,600 supplier members. Mr. Davis spent a total of 14 years in grocery, discount, and specialty retailing and 10 years at his own a convenience food and beverage operation. He also has over 16 years of retail industry consulting experience with Clear Thinking Group LLC, KPMG Consulting, and Deloitte and Touche.
Eduardo Andrade

Business Development Manager, Koch Industries

Eduardo Andrade is the Distillates Trading Manager for Koch Supply & Trading, LP, one of the world’s largest commodities trading companies. Koch Supply & Trading is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc.

Mr. Andrade began his career as an analyst with Koch Supply and Trading in 2007 and has since held different roles trading crude oil, fuel oil, feedstocks and distillates. During this time he has also served as the distillites business development leader for Latin America.

Before joining Koch, he worked for PMI (Pemex International), and held positions in fuel oil trading and crude oil marketing.

Mr. Andrade received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Teconologico de Monterrey, and a dual masters degree in Business Administration and Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Koch Supply & Trading companies around the world trade crude oil, refined petroleum products, gas liquids, natural gas, liquefied natural gas, power, renewables, emissions and metals.
Roberto Díaz de Leon
Roberto Díaz de León,
President, ONEXPO

He was born in San Luis Potosí. He has a degree in Business Administration from ITESM, where he has also studied diploma courses and workshops in Finance, Shopper Marketing and Innovation, as well as the Senior Business Management program. He also has a Masters in Business. He recently carried out the AD 2 program of the IPADE and participated in the international conferences of the Kellogg's School of Management of the Northwestern University, among other studies.

In the sphere of business, he is a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Empresas Combured, S.A. de C.V., and of Integral Operation of Service Stations S.A. of C.V., companies that have
characterized by operating under the best standards in accordance with ISO 9001, and being recognized for years for staying within the Ranking of the 100 best companies to work in Mexico, according to the Great Place to Work, and being a Super Company of Expansion, in addition to having for six consecutive years with the recognition given by the Mexican Center of Philanthropy, for being a Socially Responsible Company, and achieving various distinctions and recognitions, such as Gilberto Rincón Gallardo, Empresa Segura y Distintivo M , among others.

With regard to Onexpo, he has been part of the Association of Pemex Service Stations of SLP AC (ONEXPO SLP) since 1998, where he has held various positions as Secretary, Vice President and President of the association. In National Onexpo he appeared as National Counselor of the Northern Zone, and has worked as Secretary of the Supervisory Board, also having interference in various committees, such as being a member of the Committee on Third Parties, later, Chairman of the Communication Commission, and has also actively contributed to the work of the Onexpo-Pemex commission.

Today, he has been appointed to preside over the National Organization of Oil Expenders, A.C., making a protest in the framework of the Onexpo 2017 Convention & Expo. Since he assumed the chairmanship of Onexpo, he has followed up on the magazine of the organization, taking care to modernize it, make it dynamic and give it a hybrid, digital and printed character.
David Eaton
David Eaton, Vice President, Kansas City Southern Railway Company

David Eaton is vice president sales and marketing for Kansas City Southern (KCS)(NYSE: KSU). Headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., KCS is a transportation holding company that has railroad investments in the U.S., Mexico and Panama. KCS' North American rail holdings and strategic alliances are primary components of a NAFTA Railway system, linking the commercial and industrial centers of the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

Eaton joined the company in 2005 as vice president corporate affairs and right of way protection for the Mexican subsidiary and in 2009 joined the sales & marketing team. He is responsible for sales and marketing of the carload business unit in the U.S. and Mexico. The Carload group includes the Industrial & Consumer as well as Chemical & Petroleum portfolios.

He holds a law degree from the University of Arizona and a masters' degree in commercial law from the Technological Institute of Monterrey (ITESM). He serves on the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce-Monterrey Division and as chairman of the AmCham International Trade Committee.

For more than a decade, until 2005, he was a professor of international business and law at ITESM and managing partner of the firm, Monterrey Business Consultants. He is a long-time member of the Monterrey Metropolitan Rotary Club

Eaton holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the U.S. He and his wife, Veronica, have three children and reside in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Francisco Salazar

, Founding Partner, ENIX

Francisco Xavier Salazar Diez de Sollano is a founding partner at Enix, SC, a consulting firm specialized in energy regulation. He is also the Coordinator of the International Confederation of Regulators (ICER).

In 2016, he was appointed as the first “Institute of the Americas Regional Energy Integration Non-Resident Fellow” and as executive fellow at the School of Public Policy of the University of Calgary. During 2015-2017, he was Chair of the Mexican Chapter of the World Energy Council (WEC). In 2017 he became a member of COMEXI, the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations.

From 2005 to 2015, he served as Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) time during which he was an active promoter of energy reform in Mexico. During 2011-2015 he chaired the Ibero-American Energy Regulators Association (ARIAE).

Mr. Salazar holds an MSc in Public Financial Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, and Diploma studies in Law and Economics from other universities.
Celeste Rebora Mier
Celeste Rebora, Director Hydrocarbons Projects, TCM

Celeste Rebora Mier is the Director of Hydrocarbons and Energy projects of WTC Industrial, a Grupo Valoran company. Some of the projects that stand out are: in the electrical field; A 60 MW plant with reciprocating engines which commercializes its energy through the isolated supply model. Combined cycles plant of 400 MW that will deliver the energy to the CFE.

In the area of Hydrocarbons; The most important project is the TFCM a Joint venture between KCS, Watco and WTC located also in San Luis Potosí within the WTC Industrial Park 1. She joined the head-hunter industry in 2006 in a Mexican firm. In 2009, she became the firm’s Managing Partner and in 2014, her already established firm became a part of the Alexander Hughes Group as a leader in the Industry and Energy practices. 

Since January 2014 as a result of the Energy Law Reforms, Celeste started to participate in several forums, with her experience, she advised international companies from the Energy sector on how to perform in Mexico. At this time everything was new in Mexico, therefore she had the opportunity to study and to advance at the same time of how they were giving the reforms and the changes. With her experience, she advised international companies from the Energy sector on how to perform in Mexico.

Celeste started her professional career at Vibosa, a Mexican large scale precasted concrete elements for infrastructure, where she was in turn, Head of Costumer Service, Operations & Logistics Manager and COO
Since 2015, she became a member of the Energy Commission of the Consejo Coordinador Empresarial.

She holds a degree in architecture given by the Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, a Diploma in Energy Law by the Escuela Libre de Derecho, and a Diploma on Social Well-Being by the USEM.
Dwane Esparza
Dwane Adán García Esparza
, LPG Trader, Mex Gas Trading

Bachelor in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He began his career in the energy sector at the Mexican Petroleum Institute, where he works as a researcher in economic engineering developing predictive models of petroleum demand for the Prospects of the Energy Secretariat and the Pemex Business Plan.

After this, he worked in the area of LP Gas Market Intelligence within the Subdirectorate of Commercialization of Industrial Products and Fuels of Pemex Industrial Transformation.
He is currently a Trader of Liquefied Petroleum Gas in Mex Gas Trading, a subsidiary of Pemex Transformación Industrial.
Luis Farias
Luis Farias, CEO, Avant Energy

Luis worked for 10 years in the steel industry in Process Metallurgy and Technology Planning. First in AHMSA (76-78) and after the Post-Doctoral Fellowship in HYLSA (86- 91)

He joined CEMEX in 1991 with a mandate to create the Energy Department where he served as Senior Vice President for Energy. For 24 years he supervised the development of CEMEX Energy Strategy comprising the switch to Petroleum Coke and the intensive use of Refuse Derived Fuels in cement kilns as well as outside the fence power projects, creating an industry leading position.
Luis have directed development for more than US 2 billion in energy projects in the course of my CEMEX tenure. Among others, TEG and TEP (2 twin 250MW CFB Petcoke Power Projects), EURUS (250MW wind farm), and VENTIKA (250MW wind farm).

Luis retired from CEMEX in January 2016 to join AVANT ENERGY, a Mexican midstream power and fuels company backed by Riverstone. He currently serves as CEO and Board member.

Oscar A. Lopez Velarde is a partner at Ritch Mueller, where he heads the tax practice. Mr. Lopez Velarde has provided tax and legal advice for more than 15 years to companies operating in the oil business in Latin America. He has structured all sort of upstream, midstream and downstream deals in Mexico, and it is also very active in the private equity and capital markets space. More recently he has been an active participant in all development of the Mexican Energy Reform, advising most of the companies that have participated in Round 1; new midstream and downstream projects and in the development of the new asset class called Fibra E. Mr. López Velarde is a Mexican licensed attorney that received his law degree from Iberoamericana University and an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University.
Ernesto Anguiano

Bachelor in business administration with more than 20 years of experience in different industries as Logistics, Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Financial.

Mr Anguiano is currently responsible for the Oil&Gas, Chemicals & Fertilizers areas in Grupo Mexico Transportes, Ferromex, and was recently appointed as Commercial Director of IMEX (Terminals and last-mile business unit).

For the last three years in Grupo Mexico Transportes has closed several long-term contracts with the main companies from the Chemical industry. In 2017, to seize the opportunities from the Energy Reform, he signed one of the main contracts to supply refined products.

Grupo Mexico Transportes, Ferromex, operates rail lines in Mexico, Texas and Florida, and is the mayor railroad in Mexico with a 66% of the market share of rail cargo.
Armando Acosta

, Director of Business Development – Terminals and Transportation, Howard Energy

Since 2017, Mr. Acosta has been Director of Terminals and Transportation for Howard Energy Partners. Among his main functions are the business development of midstream projects and the construction of liquid terminals in Mexico. Before joining Howard Energy Partners, Mr. Acosta was Manager of Logistics for PMI Comercio Internacional SA de CV from 2010 to 2017. Among his main activities were the coordination of marine exports operations of products such as crude oil, fuel oil, gasolines and middle distillates. He also coordinated the PMI’s demurrage department and was also in charge of the inland operations of gasolines, fuel oil and middle distillates. Previously, he worked in the Investor Relations Office of Pemex. Mr. Acosta has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
Laura Vila
Laura Vila, Senior Investment Officer, International Finance Corporation

Laura is a Senior Investment Officer of the China-Mexico Fund and is primarily responsible for the Oil and Gas program of the Fund. Before joining the Fund’s team, she was the deputy Mexico Country Manager of IFC.
Laura joined IFC in 2005 and before coming to Mexico in 2010, she worked in the Portfolio Management and the Equity department. Before IFC, Laura worked for 5 years at the Central Bank of Colombia in the international reserves department. Overall, Laura has over 15 years of experience in finance, including portfolio and risk management, FX and fixed income trading, market research and debt and equity transactions.
She holds a Master in Financial Engineering and a Master in Applied Economics from University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has conversational skills in Italian and Portuguese.
Jaime Brito

Jaime joined Argus in January 2013 after spending almost 10 years with PFC Energy. Prior to that Jaime worked at Aspentech and PMI Comercio Internacional. Jaime has plenty of experience on the oil sector, especially on market fundamentals, refining economics, forecasting and refining modeling as well commercial strategies for crude or product trade. Jaime has completed projects around the world that vary from feasibility of new refineries to sales of crude pipelines to trading strategies for NOCs and IOCs. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering and a MBA.
