SA Recycling has expanded its southeastern shredding footprint with the acquisition of Calera, Alabama-based recycler Circle K Scrap Metal.
The acquisition adds another automobile shredder and multiple feeder yards to the California-based company's statewide count with the new facility 37 miles south of Birmingham.
The deal closed in early May, according to market participants. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
SA recycling is a 50-50 joint venture between Sims and Adams Steel.
The company operates more than 140 metal recycling facilities across the country. It has access to three port-loading facilities in the US including Long Beach and Los Angeles, California, as well as Savannah, Georgia.
Circle K and SA Recycling declined Argus' request for comment.
