The 392 mile Trailblazer natural gas pipeline will be able to transport 16mn metric tons of CO2/yr produced by ethanol plants once it undergoes conversion, according to US energy and infrastructure company Tallgrass.
Tallgrass plans to convert much of its existing Trailblazer gas pipeline in Nebraska and Wyoming to carry CO2 from Nebraska ethanol producers to a CO2 sequestration hub in southeastern Wyoming, Tallgrass' director of analytics Robert Applegate said today at the Midcontinent LDC Gas Forum in Chicago, Illinois.
Trailblazer is set to start sequestering CO2 in 2025.
