Wales funds Polytag recycling technology
The Welsh government has granted £100,000 ($132,000) to recycling technology firm Polytag to help install machinery to sort collected plastic waste for recyclers.
The funding will be for four polytag plastic detection units. The machinery scans and collects data on UV watermarks and barcodes on products that are being recycled.
The technology allows businesses and packaging producers to understand how much recycling of their products is taking place. The funding will pay for the machines at waste collection sites in Conwy, Gwynedd, Pembrokeshire and Anglesey.
