The Argus Biomass Industry Awards recognises the thought leadership and key efforts of individuals and companies in tackling climate change and leading by example, to bring sustainability to the forefront of business. Submit your entry today to nominate an individual or company taking meaningful steps to make the biomass industry a sustainable and inclusive sector working towards the green energy transition.

Nominations for the 2025 Argus Biomass Industry Awards should be submitted by Tuesday 4 March 2025.

 

2025 Award categories

  • This award will honour organizations or individuals who have made significant strides in enhancing the sustainability of biomass production and usage, focusing on life cycle analysis, improved resource efficiency, and supported the global transition to renewable energy. 
  • In 250–300 words (or a 2-minute video), highlight the nominee’s efforts in promoting sustainable practices within the biomass sector and how their projects or initiatives have positively impacted the environment.
  • Judges are looking for case studies reflecting challenges and breakthroughs along with demonstrable projects in the field.

Submit nomination

  • This award will honour companies that have achieved or are on track to achieve carbon neutrality in their biomass operations, showcasing their commitment to climate action.
  • In 250–300 words (or a 2-minute video), describe the nominee’s innovations or strategies that have significantly advanced the goal of carbon neutrality in biomass. Emphasize their measurable impact on reducing carbon emissions and how their work supports global decarbonization efforts.
  • Judges are looking for problem solving organisations with the ability to show real time data reflecting progress in the area.

  • This award will recognize efforts in advocating for effective policies that support the biomass sector, enhancing regulatory frameworks and promoting clean energy.
  • In 250–300 words (or a 2-minute video), describe the nominee’s exceptional contributions to policy advocacy that have positively influenced the biomass industry. Share how their work has shaped or advanced policies that promote renewable energy and sustainability.
  • Judges are seeking tangible outcomes such as shaping regulations and fostering stakeholder collaboration of such advocacy efforts.

  • This category will recognize groundbreaking technologies that have improved biomass processing, conversion efficiency, or waste management within the biomass sector.
  • In 250–300 words (or a 2-minute video), showcase the nominee’s innovative use or development of technology that has transformed the biomass industry. Highlight their achievements in improving operational efficiency, enhancing sustainability, or creating groundbreaking solutions that address key industry challenges.
  • Judges are looking for product-based innovations that have successfully resolved a key market issue in biomass.

  • This award will highlight emerging leaders in the biomass sector, particularly those under 30, recognizing their contributions to innovation and sustainability.
  • In 250–300 words (or a 2-minute video), detail the nominee’s groundbreaking contributions to innovation in the biomass industry.
  • Judges will focus on their development of innovative ideas, pioneering projects or demonstrable ideas that have the potential to transform the sector.
