Argus Fertilizer Africa Awards

The Argus Fertilizer Africa Awards, judged by Africa's most influential changemakers, recognise leading individuals helping shape Africa's fertilizer market. Develop your personal brand and showcase your innovations to help you grow your business.

The 2025 edition will feature new categories highlighting individuals who have contributed significantly to improving connectivity, business resilience and sustainability. Shortlisted entrants and winners have an exclusive platform to share their expertise, experience and products while improving their business links and gaining recognition amongst their peers.

Anyone can submit a nomination and the live ceremony is due to take place at the conference venue on 11 February 2025.

Become the leading voice for inclusivity and leadership. Gain recognition as a leading woman helping improve the African fertilizer sector.

  • This award recognises women based in Africa who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution in ensuring access to, affordability and sustainability of fertilizers over the past year. 
  • In 300-400 words*, entries should demonstrate how their initiatives and work have had a positive impact on the fertilizer market in Africa, demonstrating originality and innovation in their work, entries must detail how their activities have had a positive impact in the industry.  
  • Judges are looking for inspiring entries from women who have added value to the fertilizer industry and the people that work in it during the most challenging of times. 

 
Gain recognition amongst the leading fertilizer players. Grow your business in front of senior attendees.

  • This award recognises entrepreneurs who have successfully grown their business and impacted the fertilizer industry's growth in Africa.
  • In 300-400 words*, entries should demonstrate how their leadership, ideas and innovations have gained growth and recognition in the fertilizer community.
  • Entries should showcase success and leadership in adapting to changes in trade flows, opening up of new supply sources and demand centres in support of the fertilizer industry and local economies and agricultural production.
  • Judges are looking for examples of innovation, resilience and sustainability despite the challenging market environment, including effective engagement with stakeholders across the value chain.


Become the leading voice for Africa's development and share your story with the fertilizer community.

  • This award is for an individual who has demonstrated commitment to Africa's development either through key business initiatives or impactful engagement with the industry to help the larger community.
  • In 300-400 words*, entries should demonstrate, by providing examples of their work and evidence, how their initiatives and engagement with stakeholders has had a net positive impact on communities and those operating in the market in the long term.
  • Judges are looking for examples of leadership and stewardship in leading sustainability initiatives as well as innovation in approach.

 
Showcase your latest innovations to your clients and generate new business prospects.

  • This category recognises and celebrates individuals who have excelled in developing and deploying innovative technology contributing to better access to, affordability and sustainability of fertilizers in Africa in the last 12 months. Entrants must demonstrate that they have developed new technology, deployed technology successfully or played a key role in its uptake across the industry.
  • In 300-400 words*, applicants will need to provide evidence or a case study of how their technology or product/company has contributed to improving access to, affordability or sustainability of fertilizer products, highlighting how they approached product development and how their technology has contributed positively to the agricultural value chain. Evidence could include statistics.
  • Winners should showcase examples of digital innovation that have had a positive impact on agricultural productivity in Africa.

How to nominate

Nominations for the awards should be submitted by Wednesday 18 December 2024, after which they will be judged by our expert panel based on the criteria described below. Finalists will be informed and should be registered for the event to attend the ceremony.

Judges will be announced shortly. Argus will remain impartial and independent of any decisions. The judging process will also be impartial with no payment by any organisation or outside individual.

Applicants may send supporting material for consideration via email to bhuvam.patel@argusmedia.com after you have submitted the nomination form. Supporting materials can include web links, videos, photographs and other documents. You do not have to submit supporting material for your nomination, but if you do, you should include the following information in the subject line:

  • The category you are entering.
  • The name, job title and company name of the nominated individual. Contact information must be included (email address or phone number).
