Dr Paul Horsnell is the Global Head of Commodities Research for Standard Chartered Bank and is based in London. He joined Standard Chartered in 2013 and was previously Head of Commodities Research at Barclays, and Head of Energy Research at JPMorgan. Prior to becoming a financial analyst, he was a researcher at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies for 10 years, where he authored books on the Brent oil market (with Robert Mabro) and on Asian energy markets. Paul holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a Doctorate in Economics, both from Oxford University. He is a former Chairman of the British Institute of Energy Economics and a Praelector in Economics at Lincoln College, Oxford. Standard Chartered were awarded Commodities House of the Year 2020 by Energy Risk.

Jayanta is an accomplished leader with close to 3 decades of leadership experience in Supply Chain across multiple functions – Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Fulfilment and Business Process Implementation – in Asia Pacific, India, ME, KSA and now currently in Global businesses. Jayanta has progressed through roles of increasing responsibility in Supply Chain and is currently based out of the HQ of Castrol business in the UK as the Global Supply Chain Director - Industrial, Marine and Energy. Prior to moving to the UK, he was in the Board of Castrol India Limited as an Executive Director (Supply Chain). Mr Agarwal used his deep industry knowledge, strong educational background and commercial acumen to set up Globestar Energy FZE, a highly reputed name in base oil trade. Globestar is successfully trading all base oil grades and petrochemicals in MENA, Far East Asia, India and Africa. His past work experience includes senior sales and marketing positions at Elf Lubricants, TotalEnergies India, Reliance Industries and Diamond Petroleum.

Dr Harry Ernest Henderson

President, K&E Petroleum Consulting, LLC

Dr. H. Ernest Henderson received a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Windsor in 1977, after which he spent nearly 20 years with Imperial Oil and Exxon in Research, Marketing, Logistics and Technical Services activities both domestically and internationally.

In 1997, Dr. Henderson joined Petro-Canada as Manager for their Group III research and technical developments, and later was Research Director at Syntroleum Corporation for their Fischer-Tropsch GTL upgrading programs. During his 45-year career, Dr. Henderson has also been Technical Manager for YUBASE Group III base stocks, Fluid Technology Manager for CITGO and Director of Technology for Lubrication Technologies.

In 2011, Dr. Henderson re-launched K&E Petroleum Consulting, LLC. His broad range of base oil expertise includes Group I, II, III, IV (PAO) and re-refined and their application with finished lubricants. His company operates on a national and international basis, specializing in base stock management, strategic planning, new product and process development, Supply Chain management, formulation cost control, raw materials sourcing, patent litigation and training.

Dr. Henderson is a Fellow of the STLE and the Chemical Institute of Canada, a member of SAE and participant in API, AFPM, BLM, ASTM, SAE, STLE and ILMA activities. His involvement with Argus spans over 2 decades as a consultant and speaker at various Argus events, and as a trainer in the areas of base oils, waxes and finished lubricants.

Guo Harn Hong

Guo Harn graduated from the National University of Singapore with First Class Honours in Economics. He was on the university’s Dean List in 2014/2015 and 2016/2017. Guo Harn also holds a diploma with highest distinction in Business Information Technology from Temasek Polytechnic. He was on the institute’s Director’s Honour’s List in 2009 and 2010.

Christian's previous experience includes working as a reporter for a remote US internship covering global political news. Following six months covering agriculture for Argus, he joined the global base oils team.
