Lone Star NGL (LST), a joint venture between Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) and Regency Energy Partners, will construct a fourth 120,000 b/d NGL fractionation facility at its existing site at Mont Belvieu, Texas.
The news comes five months after LST announced the construction of a third 100,000 b/d fractionator. The unit is still expected to come online in January 2016.
The fourth fractionator is expected to cost about $450mn and is scheduled to come online in December 2016.
The Lone Star Express pipeline, currently under construction, will transport about 475,000 b/d of NGLs from the Permian and Midland basins to Mont Belvieu to service LST's NGL transportation volumes.
Phase I and phase II of the pipeline remain on schedule for completion in the second quarter of 2016 and the fourth quarter of 2016, respectively, ETP said.
ETP said it continues to evaluate further fractionation expansion opportunities at Mont Belvieu and elsewhere.
