The European Commission (EC) has decided against imposing provisional anti-dumping measures on Turkish and Russian hot-dipped galvanised (HDG) steel imports.
"Given the technical complexity of the case, the Commission has decided to continue the anti-dumping investigation and to not impose provisional measures at this stage," the EC has informed interested parties.
The EC started an investigation on 24 June 2021, and most market participants expected it to introduce provisional measures at the start of this year. But until last week, the EC was still visiting re-rollers in Turkey, which meant it was likely going to delay the introduction of measures.
The Commission is expected to decide on definitive measures by 30 May 2022 and introduce them by 23 August.
