Austrian integrated energy firm OMV's 193,700 b/d Schwechat refinery near Vienna will undergo a partial shutdown affecting some unspecified units during 1-25 March.
Market participants said bitumen availability will be significantly impacted during the turnaround, with at least one bitumen buyer from the plant already unable to lift bitumen truck volumes from Schwechat this week.
The refinery sustained damage to one of the columns on its main crude unit just as it was about to return from a turnaround in early June 2022. The refinery had to operate at a fifth of its capacity for four months following the incident.
