Houston, 30 October (Argus) — Phillips 66's 250,000 b/d Bayway refinery in Linden, New Jersey, remained shut down this morning and partially flooded following Hurricane Sandy's overnight landfall.

The refinery remains without power, and low-lying areas are flooded, Phillips 66 confirmed today.

“Decisions regarding restarting these operations will be made once post-storm assessments have been completed,” the company said.

Phillips 66 shut down the refinery on 28 October ahead of the storm.

Linden-area power outages have hit the energy sector hard. New York Harbor terminal assets, Bayway and Hess's 65,000 b/d cracker in Port Reading remain shut down and awaiting restored electricity.
