Legal basis for Processing
|
- Provision of Sites, and services: providing our Sites, or services; providing promotional items upon request; communicating with you, or your employer, in relation to those Sites, or services; performing our obligations, and protecting, exercising or enforcing our rights under our agreement(s) with you or your employer; ensuring that the Argus Content Platforms are presented in the best manner for you; offering you additional products and services provided by us or our third-party partners; and for any purpose connected with your or your employer’s agreement(s) with us, including the maintenance of a central database of customers.

- The Processing is necessary in connection with any contract that you have entered into with us, or to take steps prior to entering into a contract with us; or
- We have a legitimate interest in carrying out the Processing for the purpose of providing our Sites or services, including in connection with any contract your employer or another party who shares your Personal Information with Argus enters into with Argus where our “legitimate interest” is not overridden by your fundamental rights or freedoms; or
- We have obtained your prior consent to the Processing in accordance with applicable law (this legal basis is only used in relation to Processing that is entirely voluntary – it is not used for Processing that is necessary or obligatory in any way).

- Compliance checks: fulfilling our regulatory compliance obligations; ‘Know Your Business Partner’ checks; confirming and verifying your identity; use of credit reference agencies; and screening against government and/or law enforcement agency sanctions lists and other legal restrictions.

- The Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation; or
- The Processing is necessary in connection with any contract that you have entered into with us, or to take steps prior to entering into a contract with us; or
- We have a legitimate interest in carrying out the Processing for the purpose of fulfilling our regulatory and compliance obligations where our “legitimate interest” is not overridden by your fundamental rights or freedoms.

- Operating our business: administering our business activities; operating and managing our Sites, and our services; providing content to you; displaying advertising and other information to you; communicating and interacting with you through our Sites, or our services; notifying you of changes to any of our Sites, or our services; and providing customer service, including handling enquiries and complaints.

- Communications and marketing: communicating with you through any means (including by email, telephone, text message, social media, post or in person) news and analysis that we believe may be of interest to you, subject always to obtaining your prior opt-in consent to the extent required under applicable law; telling you about changes to our services, the Argus Content Platforms and their functionality; providing you with information about other products and services we offer; keeping you informed about industry developments; notifying you of industry conferences, events and training courses; maintaining and updating your contact information where appropriate; and obtaining your prior, opt-in consent where required.

- The Processing is necessary in connection with any contract that you have entered into with us, or to take steps prior to entering into a contract with us; or
- We have a legitimate interest in carrying out the Processing for the purpose of contacting you where our “legitimate interest” is not overridden by your fundamental rights or freedoms, subject always to compliance with applicable law; or

- Management of IT systems: management and operation of our communications, IT and security systems, including SaaS services and others operated by third party providers; and audits (including security audits) and monitoring the performance and your usage of such systems.
