Air Liquide Engineering & Construction

Air Liquide Engineering & Construction builds the Group's production units, mainly air gas separation and renewable & low carbon hydrogen production units, and provides customers with efficient, sustainable, customized technology and process solutions.

Air Liquide Engineering and Construction has a wide portfolio of technologies, including green chemicals & fuels with a range of technologies using non-edible bio feedstocks and waste, such as:

• HVO solutions (pretreatment, hydrogen & carbon capture) for biofuels producers with a significant contribution to carbon emission reductions as a replacement for diesel and as a sustainable aviation fuel;
• Soap carbonate technology, licensed by Inventure Renewables, enabling the conversion of low-value soapstock, a waste product arising from chemical refining of crude vegetable oils and fats, into higher value feedstocks for direct use or co-processing as a feedstock in HVO refineries;
• Supercritical biodiesel, another technology licensed by Inventure Renewables, as an innovative alternative to conventional biodiesel technology. Its production avoids the use of a catalyst, enabling the process to be very robust and highly flexible for low-quality waste oils and fats and to produce high quality biodiesel and crude glycerin;
• Bio-Propylene Glycol, a referenced technology for the production of drop-in propylene glycol utilizing glycerin as feedstock, and reducing the carbon footprint by up to 65%

EBB

EBB

The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) is the association for companies producing biodiesel (HVO and FAME) in the EU. The EBB gathers over 37 members across 21 Member-States, representing over 65% of the European output. Biodiesel is the main European solution to reduce emissions from transport and dependence on imported oil. The EBB promotes the use of biodiesel in the European Union and is committed to fulfil international standards for sustainability in GHG emissions and sustainable feedstock. We represent biodiesel producers using all feedstocks: food/feed crops, waste, residues, and other innovative biogenic materials.
The EBB has been the authoritative voice of the biodiesel industry since its foundation in 1997. For decades we have worked alongside policymakers to ensure European regulation is as appropriate and effective as possible, developing an unrivalled understanding of the regulatory process and its impact on our industry. We are constantly working towards the development of improved and greener technologies.

European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association - EWABA

European Waste-based & Advanced Biofuels Association - EWABA

EWABA is a Brussels-based association representing the interests of the European waste-based and advanced biofuels industry before EU institutions, national governments, industry, civil society and the media. We promote the inclusion of waste-based and advanced biofuels in the EU fuel mix as a sustainable means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in EU transport. Our +55 members active in most EU Member States collect and use waste and advanced feedstocks listed in parts A and B of Annex IX of the Renewable Energy Directive (REDII) to produce sustainable biodiesel with the highest GHG savings (up to +90%) when compared with fossil fuels, thus enabling “near-term decarbonization” of the EU road and maritime transport sectors.

Nuseed

Nuseed

Nuseed Carinata is an independently certified sustainable, non-food oilseed. It is contract-grown between main crop rotations to regenerate soil and is harvested for lower-carbon feedstock. By removing atmospheric carbon while restoring soil carbon as it grows, Nuseed Carinata reduces lifecycle emissions when its drop-in oil is used to replace fossil oils. The Nuseed Carinata program also rewards sustainable farming practices that further improve greenhouse gas savings. The program’s field verification ensures production does not increase land use change and protects natural areas. Nuseed’s proprietary processing also supplies a new traceable source of non-GMO high-protein meal for livestock feed.
Traceable from field to oil through verified production data, Nuseed Carinata is independently certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (including RSB EU RED, RSB Global Products, and RSB CORSIA certifications) under their Principles & Criteria which recognizes Nuseed Carinata as best-in-class in addressing key sustainability issues.1 Carinata is also listed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) feedstock with similar industry-leading greenhouse gas (GHG) savings as waste and residuals, like used cooking oil.2 The Nuseed Carinata program supports accountability across carbon reduction, sustainability, and corporate responsibility voluntary and mandatory requirements for reporting, the US IRA SAF Tax Credit, and to meet or exceed the environmental and social expectations of consumers, investors, and regulators.
